How To Beat The “Sunday Scaries”

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
When you work a standard 9-5, or any job really, Mondays are the worst. You've made it through the five days and in a blink of an eye, Sunday rolls around and suddenly the anxiety of doing it all over again sets in. Most of us are never "ready" for Monday.

What if we told you that there's a way to actually look forward to Mondays?

Since we love you so much, we've compiled some quick tips to help you kill the "Sunday Scaries" and start the week of feeling refreshed and exited.
Let's do this.

#LiveYourLegend
Use mindfulness to rebrand your weekends. Oftentimes, we view the weekend as a way to catch up on errands or the pesky stuff we didn't have time for during the week. Yeah, these things are necessary to get done, but rework the way you think about it. We also suggest moving these "life maintenance" activities to Friday. That way, there's less laundry and grocery shopping on Sunday and more time dedicated to you.

Also, sleep more. On vacation that's usually what you do, right? Sometimes it's OK to miss that 9am workout class if you want to sleep. Take more time to rest and schedule more time for yourself.
Yeah, we said it. Don't check your emails that you have no intention of solving until Monday. Wire your brain to turn off work and turn on relaxation. We understand that this takes a lot of time and will power, but we believe in you. Creating a healthy work-life balance is key to maintaining a healthy brain.

Draw boundaries for yourself. This time is your time. You've worked hard to deserve this "you time". If your job requires you to always be "plugged in" perhaps there is a way to incorporate more of this unplugged time throughout the week to make up for it. Bottom line, you need to unplug sometimes.
Create a Monday morning routine that is more enjoyable. Schedule a lunch with a friend, wake up a little earlier to really enjoy that cup of coffee, take a few more walks during the day to get away from your desk. Sure, Mondays will probably never be as good as Saturdays, but allow a little of your weekend vibe to spill over to make the transition a little easier.

What You Need to Know About B-Vitamins

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

What you need to know
about B Vitamins

You've probably heard of it amongst the hundreds of vitamins you're supposed to take every day--but this one's important, so listen up.

There are eight well known B-vitamins that play a role in the body. They support metabolism and contribute to the body's ability to produce energy amongst tons of other benefits.

Don't fret, B-vitamins won't dent your wallet. They're actually found in tons of common foods--primarily in dairy, vegetables, fruit and animal products.

So why do you need B-vitamins? Keep reading.

#LiveYourLegend

They keep your energy high
and boost your immune system

B-vitamins are key for adequate energy production and work together with other B's to support healthy immune function and protect the cardiovascular function.

They produce oxygen

They are needed to make red blood cells, which carries oxygen throughout the body. Do we need to explain the importance of this?

Studies show B vitamins are
tied to lower stroke risk

A stroke is a condition that occurs when a blood clot forms and blocks blood flow to the brain, or a blood vessel bursts in the brain. A recent study showed that vitamin B supplements lowered risk of stroke by 7 percent.

They keep your hair, nails and skin healthy.

Given it's key role in cell production, adequate levels of this vitamin are needed to promote healthy hair, skin and nails.

Long story short,
more B vitamins = happier human

What the heck is CBD Oil?

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

What the heck is CBD oil?

There's a new trend that has taken over the wellness market--cannabidiol, better known as CBD oil. People are using it to help with everything from anxiety, arthritis, muscle and joint pain from workouts and athletics, menopause symptoms, insomnia and many other health issues.

There are hundreds of CBD oil products on the market, and it can be a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you're skeptical to the idea that it actually works.

Keep reading and you'll find a brief breakdown on how to take CBD oil so you can find the right method for you.

#LiveYourLegend

Figure out where you want to target

What are you trying to fix? The body has 65 molecular target points and narrowing it down to just one or two can help you best pick the target to suit your needs. Do you need help with anxiety? Trouble falling asleep? Experiencing arthritic pain? Or are you just curious to see how your life will change if you use it?

Choose the product that will help the CBD oil get there

In order for CBD oil to be effective, it needs to hit your intended molecular target. If the target is close to your skin, use a topical or suppository. If it needs to travel to your bloodstream to get it to its intended place (brain, immune system, etc.) try something like a vaporizer.

Find what dose works best for you

Every human body is different. It's recommended that your start out with a smaller dose to see how your body is impact and increase as needed. For vaporizers, you'll be able to sense the impact quickly (about an hour after), for topicals, it may take up to six.

Find what dose works best for you

Last but certainly not least, do your research. Find a product that is safe, healthy and will work for your body. Here's a great article to get you started.

Marie Kondo-ing Your Life

Marie Kondo-ing Your Life

Unless you've been living in solitude, you're probably familiar
with the Netflix hit, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, where pro-organizer Marie Kondo helps individuals and families from all of over...well, tidy up.

Kondo assists her clients in clearing out the clutter and choosing joy in a series of inspiring home makeovers. Having an organized home not only makes you feel good, but you can teach yourself how to apply this "Marie Kondo method" into life outside of the home.

This week, we're talking about steps to "Marie Kondo" your world. Life can be crazy. We all have piles and piles of clutter to sort through every day and being more intentional with how you approach it can make all the difference.

#LiveYourLegend

Step one: Declutter your space

There's several studies that prove having an organized physical space helps your mental psyche feel more at ease.

If you haven't watched the Marie Kondo show, we encourage you to read this article with quick tips on how to declutter your space and maintain it.

Step two: Have a "power" day

What's a "power" day? You know those pesky little tasks that have been looming over your head that you need to get done but you consistently
push them off? These little tasks add up and can leave you in a constant state of anxiety over them.

Pay that electric bill.
Fix the crooked photo on the wall.
Book that doctor's appointment.

These seem insignificant, but oftentimes they cause far more stress than needed. Build out a list, set a day and get it done.

Step three: Be intentional

Write down areas of your life that are unorganized.
But, what if my WHOLE life feels like a mess?

Deep breaths. Write it down. Make a plan. Be intentional.

Prioritize what needs to get fixed sooner rather than later. Maybe it's your finances. Your job. Your relationship with your mother. Whatever it is, write it down and make a plan.

Figure out what you need to fix to get to where you need to be.

Redefining What It Means to Be Single on #SinglesAwarenessDay

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Redefining what it
means to be "single" on #SinglesAwarenessDay

This week we're all about self-love. For some, Valentine's Day was a chance to hit the town for a fancy dinner with your significant other and for others, it was a night to indulge on chocolates and several glasses of red wine with your friends. Today is #SingleAwarenessDay, or some have dubbed as #SAD.

What's "sad" about being single? Nothing.

This week we're here to talk through the value of being alone and creating your own Personal Legend, for nobody else but yourself.

#LiveYourLegend

What does it mean to be single?

"Single" and "lonely" are often accompanied by one another. Without a partner to share your life with, who are you? Perhaps that's why #SAD was created--to pay homage to all of the "lonely" folks of the world the day after you're reminded of how single you actually are.
We don't believe in the idea of having a "better half." We don't believe humans should complete each other, or were meant to, for that matter. We were born to build our own life, write our own stories, and create our own Personal Legends. At Legendary Life, we're here to help get you started.
You don't need to be in a relationship to benefit from understanding your Love Language. Knowing how you best give and receive love can help you better love yourself. Use your Love Language to help you complete the weekly challenge below.

What is a Personal Legend?

It's sort of like your life's ideal destiny. Although we may write the script of our lives as we go along using our free will, there is also an outline of our life that is drafted before we are born. Understanding your Personal Legend can help you feel more confident in your abilities.
